I heard part of this clip on CNN, and had to find the whole thing. It’s eerily similar to “Wideload,” the story I co-wrote with Allen Steele. The real-world version is a mother and daughter in Kentucky who refused to sell their farmland in order for it to be replaced with a data center. Our story was in Resistance, the anthology I edited earlier this year.
